Guildford

When Andy and Lauren embarked on a complete house build and renovation in Guildford, they had a clear vision: a home with a cohesive design aesthetic that felt both bold and refined. The Kitchen Store was commissioned to design and install the kitchen, pantry, and utility areas — three interconnected spaces forming the functional and visual heart of the home.

A Striking Open-Plan Kitchen

The main kitchen showcases the nolteNEO range, combining Lodge Blackened Oak cabinetry with a contrasting island in Soft Lack Magma, all on Quartz Grey cabinet internals. The design makes a statement through its rich textures, strong lines, and beautifully considered details.

Key features include:

  • MatrixART 750 cabinets with black handle rails — illuminated horizontally and vertically for subtle drama and definition.

  • Dekton Keyla 20mm worktops with a sleek Shark Nose edge profile.

  • A black metal corner tambour and pop-up island socket for convenience and continuity of the aesthetic.

  • Siemens Studio Line appliances, including a glass draft extractor, completing the premium finish.

This open-plan kitchen flows naturally into the adjoining seating area, where Andy and Lauren extended the kitchen’s design language through bold, complementary soft furnishings. Wide drawers, deep storage, and end-clad island panels allow the handle rails to run seamlessly, giving the space a custom-fitted, architectural feel.

The Modern Pantry

To preserve the clean, minimal lines of the main kitchen, Andy and Lauren opted for a dedicated pantry — perfect for storing bulk goods and smaller appliances out of sight. The design combines a modern aesthetic with nods to traditional pantry styling.

Featuring:

  • Nolte Veluto Lava fronts on Quartz Grey internals.

  • MatrixART 750 cabinets with black handle rails.

  • 20mm Dekton Keyla surfaces with a chamfer edge detail.

  • 710mm extra-deep drawers for generous storage capacity.

The result is a space that’s simple, stylish, and effortlessly practical.

A Practical & Polished Utility Space

The utility room continues the home’s cohesive design story, showcasing the same Veluto Lava cabinetry and Dekton Keyla surfaces. Beyond its everyday functionality, the space cleverly conceals the home’s heating manifolds and electrical boards behind bespoke cabinetry.

Additional features include:

  • A large single sink with side-spray shower head for washing the family dogs after countryside walks.

  • A boot-room style bench seat with full-depth drawers below.

  • Discreet wardrobe-style storage for outdoor clothing and footwear.

  • An additional built-under freezer for extra capacity.

Cohesion Through Design

By combining nolteNEO and Nolte furniture ranges across all three spaces, we achieved a unified look that balances sophistication with everyday practicality. The attention to material continuity — from the Dekton wall cladding to the illuminated handle profiles — ties the spaces together seamlessly.

Timescale

We worked closely with Andy and Lauren over a six-month period, collaborating through every design and installation stage to ensure each room met their expectations both aesthetically and functionally.
