At The Kitchen Store we believe something simple: no one lives like you.
Your kitchen isn’t just a room. It’s where mornings start, conversations happen, families gather and and moments are shared.
That’s why we design kitchens that are deeply personal — spaces shaped around how you actually live, cook and spend time at home.
For over twenty years we’ve helped people across Sussex and Surrey create kitchens that are not only beautiful, but truly work for them.
Who we are
We’re a close-knit team of around twenty designers, project managers and installers, with showrooms in Brighton & Hove, Horsham and Guildford. Together we guide each kitchen from first idea to final installation.
We’re proud that many of our team — including our installers — have been with us for years. Their experience and craftsmanship mean the finishing details are treated with the same care as the design itself. Because a kitchen is only as good as the way it’s delivered.
2004
The seed for The Kitchen Store was planted when our founder, Alan, visited a showroom called Kitchen Clinic while on holiday in Cape Town. Set in a wharfside building, it left a lasting impression.
What struck him was simple but powerful: beautiful, modern spaces that still felt warm, personal and human. He came home with the idea to bring that same quality and spirit to kitchens here, with a service that put people first.
Our first showroom opened shortly after in Lancing, West Sussex.

Over the years, we’ve expanded our reach, opening new showrooms in 2013, 2016, 2020 and 2023. Alongside that growth, we’ve committed ourselves to high standards, whether that’s through working with manufacturers who share our values, holding accreditations, or taking on bigger projects through TKS Projects (our commercial+development side).
What matters to us
Craftsmanship + quality: We work with British and German kitchen manufacturers, plus trusted suppliers, to ensure every kitchen is built well and built to last.
People first: You, the customer; our team; and our community. We believe in treating everyone with respect, being transparent, and making the whole process as clear and enjoyable as possible.
Sustainability and responsibility: We source from PEFC-certified manufacturers; we aim to reduce waste; and wherever possible, we choose materials and partnerships that align with long-term environmental care.
Attention to detail: From design to installation to finish, it’s often the small things that make the difference — the cabinetry, the fit, the final finishing touches. We pride ourselves on getting those right.
Today & looking ahead
Over 20 years on, we’ve delivered kitchens not just in homes but in some bigger-scale projects too — working through our commercial arm to ensure quality isn’t compromised at scale. What excites us each day is helping people transform their homes into spaces they really love.

We are proud to be the only independent retailer in Sussex to hold the FIRA Gold Installation Certification for the quality of our installation.
