Meet our Showroom Managers

The secret ingredient to The Kitchen Store’s success is passion, and that starts with our people.

And our team here is about as passionate as they come!

Being an independent retailer, every recommendation and great review we receive is really important to us, and supports the future growth of our company. So, employing staff that share in our mission to create inspiring kitchens, and make these reviews happen, is critical to our success.

With a team of over 25 people across our four showrooms in London, Brighton & Hove, Horsham and Worthing, every individual contributes to this shared goal, whether that’s designing, installing, managing staff or simply being on the end of the phone for our clients.

We grabbed a moment with two of our key staff members, Cat and Roger, who are the backbone of our showrooms in Horsham and Brighton & Hove.

Meet Cat Scopes, Horsham Showroom Manager & Designer

Over the last nine years, Cat has worked in our three Sussex showrooms, finally settling in Horsham as our Showroom Manager.

So Cat, What's your favourite part of your job at The Kitchen Store?

I love working with a committed team every day to bring our customers’ dream kitchen designs to life.

What are your kitchen design top tips?

Before you start, think about how you use your current kitchen. Make a list of what works and what doesn't, and then consider the different zones you'd like to create. Then, start to have a think about the kitchen style that you like. We have a vast array of both contemporary and traditional styles in all four of our showrooms, so this will help you in the next step of your journey.

What do you do when you’ve downed tools?

I exercise often, it helps my physical and mental state outside of work. I’m very fortunate to live right on the beach! My partner is mad about kite surfing, so we love to head to the water as often as we can.

What's been the favourite kitchen you've designed?

There's are lots, but it has to be this recent project.

It was a large family space that had both contemporary and traditional elements. The materials and colour scheme just came together perfectly, and the results were incredible.

Meet Roger Wallace, Brighton & Hove Showroom Manager & Designer

If you have had the fortune to meet Roger, you’ll know instantly that he sees his role as so much more than a 9-5 job.

He defines The Kitchen Store’s view on customer service. A case in point? When he's not keeping a tight ship at our Brighton & Hove showroom, he loves to visit clients with recently completed kitchens, sit with a coffee, while they tell him about their new living space.

Here's what he had to say when we caught up with him.

What do you think makes The Kitchen Store different?

Customers love our showrooms, our extensive, broad range of displays and the personal service we provide. We make each customer feel valued. We design a kitchen that is unique to their specific needs, whilst always delivering that 'wow' factor.

What’s your advice to anyone starting out on their kitchen journey?

It’s simple! Tell your designer what your kitchen must-haves are, and then let your designer work out how to make it happen.

What's your favourite part of the job?

It might sound corny, but I just love designing dream kitchens for our clients. The look on their faces when they see their kitchen design come to life for the first time – it’s priceless!

Give us a fun fact about you?

I got married in Las Vegas, and we plan to celebrate our 20th anniversary this year with a party, assuming lockdown doesn't put our plans on hold!

So there are just two members of our valued team.

We look forward to the day (hopefully next month!) when we can chat with you about your kitchen plans face-to-face again. Until then, we’re still operating our full design service, so please get in touch if you have plans for a new kitchen this Summer!
